The Rite of Christian Burial is the canon for all Catholics who wish a Catholic Funeral Mass (also called Requiem Mass) performed at their passing.
Planning your funeral Mass at any time can alleviate the decisions that family and friends would have to make and gives you control over the process, from selecting the funeral home, to the church where you want the Mass held, to the liturgy and the hymns. Our local funeral directors at Day Funeral Home will be very helpful in your journey.
In 1997, the Catholic Church allowed for cremated remains to be accepted at a Funeral Mass, if a body cannot be present. Funeral homes are fully aware of the requirements for a Catholic Funeral Mass or Memorial Mass, and can assist you and your family at this most difficult of times.
